Ministry of Food Procesing Industries
Overview
The Ministry of Food Procesing Industries, setup in July 1988, is the main central agency of the Gevernment responsible for developing a strong and vibrant food processing sector; with a view to create increased job opportunities in rural areas, enable the farmers to reap benefit from modern technology, create suplus for exports and stimulating demand for processed food.
The main idea of the programme is to train about 25 to 25 rural youth in each of the EDP with special focus on the women and make them understand the scope of establishing own enterprises in the food processing and earn a sustainable livelihood or their families.
Location
The Programme covers 3 state of India viz, Jharkhand, (Brambey, Rangamati, Bero and Jamshedpur districts) Adnhrapradesh (Ranganreddy, Medak and chittor Districts and Haryana(Nuh District)
