The Mahindra Group pioneers in the concept of Integrated Business Cities through its offering – Mahindra World City. Following the success of Mahindra World City, Chennai, the second Mahindra World City was established in Jaipur. Promoted by the Mahindra Group, in partnership with Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation Ltd (RIICO, an agency of the Government of Rajasthan), Mahindra World City, Jaipur was developed as a multi-product Special Economic Zone on the format of an Integrated Business City.

Corporate Social Responsibility was always an integral part of the Mahindra Group’s vision and the cornerstone of their core value of good corporate citizenship. The Mahindra Group defines Corporate Social Responsibility as making socially responsible products, engaging in socially responsible employee relations and making a commitment to the community around it. At the Mahindra Group, Corporate Social Responsibility is not just a duty; it’s a way of life.

The main objective of this program with CAP Foundation was to identify the demand driven potential livelihood options in and around Jaipur for the underprivileged youth and to train them in various skills to make them suitable for the formal work atmosphere.

Location

The project was envisaged under the CSR initiative to reach out to the project affected communities of the following villages:

Kalvada, Nevta, Dadiya, Bambharia, Bagru khurd, Tiliyas, Palri parsa, and Khatwara Jhain , Nagia kapas, Ajayrajpura, Ganakpura, Sirani, Bagru, Kalvara, Nevta, Dadiya, Palri, Parsa, Bhambhoria, Bagrukhurd, Tilyas, Jhain, and Khatwara

MAHINDRA WORLD CITY, KANCHEEPURAM

Overview

EMPLOYABILITY TRAINING FOR RURAL YOUTH AROUND MAHINDRA WORLD CITY, KANCHEEPURAM (TAMIL NADU)

World City, New Chennai, India’s first integrated business city and corporate India’s first operational Special Economic Zone (SEZ), has become a landmark on India’s business map with customers such as B.Braun, BMW, CapGemini, Infosys Technologies, Lincoln Electric, Renault-Nissan, Timken, TVS Group and Wipro among others.

Mahindra World City requested CAP Foundation to do the livelihoods programme for the people who gave lands to them as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility. The main objective of the program was to reduce the number of people living below poverty line in nearby rural villages of Mahindra World City, Kanchipuram district through opportunities for acquiring employability skills.
