Improving Learning and Employability through the Alliance with Lucent Alcatel (QUEST)
CAP is part of the Quality Education and Skills Training (QUEST) Alliance, which aims to implement projects and advocate improvements in the quality and relevance of basic education and skills training for youth between the ages of 6 and 21 years, with particular attention to those most vulnerable and marginalized.
Of the organizations that had joined this alliance, APF, CAP and Pratham India collaborated in implementing a two-year Lucent funded program entitled “Improving Learning and Employability” through Computer-Assisted Instruction for Underprivileged Children and Youth in Bangalore and Mumbai.
This programaimed to improve the quality of elementary education for 8,400 children aged 6-14 years and impart life skills education, career exploration, and employability skills of 4,000 youth 12-21 years of age, using computer assisted learning models.
The primary objective of this partnership was to provide employability opportunities to 3000 youth in Mumbai. The trainingwas provided in Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES), Customer Relations and sales and Hospitality.
